Site Survey
The initial stage in any UPS installation process is identifying the power needs of your business and the equipment which will be connected to the UPS system. We will calculate the total power consumption of the devices in question which allows us to correctly specify the UPS system which will best fit your requirements.
UPS System Design
The correct installation and commissioning of a UPS system are vital to ensure that your new UPS system not only fulfils the latest UPS regulation guidelines but also meets the manufacturer’s warranty. That is why we carry out a complete assessment of your company’s infrastructure, current UPS set-up, cabling and distribution to ensure that nothing is left to chance and we deliver the very best UPS system for you.
Installation Plan
Correctly sizing your UPS solution is the first step to providing you with an efficient system which suits the needs of your specific business. We will look at how much power is needed to support your equipment, as well as how long the UPS will need to support equipment should a mains power outage occur. The more closely the UPS system matches the power load, the more efficiently the UPS will operate.
Install and Commission
Whether dealing with single-phase or three-phase power supplies, there are a variety of UPS systems available on the market, each with its own pros and cons. We will work with you to commission the best choice for your requirements and which best fits your budget and needs. We can also safely and correctly dispose of any UPS systems in need of decommissioning.
Testing
Once your UPS system has been fitted by our fully-qualified engineers, it’s then subject to vigorous testing before being granted certification and system handover. Only a fully-qualified UPS installation engineer is permitted to carry out this testing and certification. Before the system is ready to be handed over, we carry out a thorough inspection of connections, peripherals, components and firmware to ensure reliability, safety and robustness, followed by final configuration and system setup.
Risk Assessment
Whether caused by a mains power outage, a power surge or a lightning strike, blackouts are a real cause for concern and your business needs a contingency plan should one occur. We carry out black building testing to ensure that we know exactly how your UPS system will perform in a “power blackout” situation as part of our installation process. These tests can be performed outside of operational hours so as not to impede business workflow. After every test we carry out, we provide you with a detailed report of the performance of your UPS and generators so that you can record the capabilities of your chosen system.
Handover
Once the system is set up and ready to use, our engineers will provide your staff with full training on how to use the UPS system. A fully-certified UPS installation is required to ensure that you do not render your warranty void and to ensure that everything meets the proper UPS safety requirements. We will then offer you a comprehensive maintenance and monitoring package to ensure that you have ongoing peace of mind that your power is protected, 24/7.
